These Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes only require a couple of ingredients and a few simple steps to make. Thinly sliced and then air fried to crispy perfection, it’s so easy to make hasselback potatoes in an air fryer.

I love making potatoes in my air fryer like my air fryer breakfast potatoes, air fryer baby potatoes, and air fryer baked potatoes. It’s such an easy way to cook them and the best part is, unlike the oven, it doesn’t raise the temperature of the house. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, you’ll love this hasselback potatoes air fryer edition!

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS AIR FRYER SIDE

It’s faster to cook these hasselback potatoes in the air fryer. I love just tossing them in the air fryer and have it ready in 30 minutes. It’s much faster than cleaning out the oven of my sheet pans and cast irons then waiting for it to preheat.

They’re easy to make ahead and then reheat again in the air fryer to keep the exterior crispy.
You can easily change up the seasoning to suit your personal preference.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 medium potatoes Russet/ Royal dutch cream/ Red royal/purple work well.
  • 3 tbsp. oil (2 tbsp for seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp. garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp. oregano or any seasoning
  • 1 tp salt
  • salt as per taste

Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes Instructions :

Mix chopped garlic, salt and oregano(or any seasoning) with 2 tbsp oil, keep it aside.

Wash and remove any dirt from the potatoes.

Place the potato alongside 2 inverted spoons. Cut the potato with the knife using the spoons to prevent from cutting all the way down through the potato.

Soak these in water again to remove any starch from the slices, else they will stick together.

Dry it on paper towels to remove excess water.

Preheat the air fryer at 200 deg C (390 F). for 10 mins. Brush 1 tbsp. oil on the potatoes. Air fry for 8 mins at 200 deg C (390 F).

Apply the oil with seasoning to potatoes Air fry further for 15-16 mins at 200 deg C(390 F) or until the potatoes are cooked. Bigger potatoes will need few more minutes. Serve hot/warm.

While picking these up from the air fryer, be careful as they might break off,I prefer to use a turner or a spatula to pick these up.

Few things to note when making Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes.

  1. The air fryer has to be pre heated
  2. Choose potatoes that are long in shape not round and are good for roasting, I prefer russet one, here in Australia I use Royal dutch cream/purple/royal blue
  3. Once cooked, use a spatula to pick them up, else they will break.

Enjoy your Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes
